Helping Vizient’s Members solve health care challenges

Vizient is a U.S based healthcare consultancy that offers Members access to expert insights and software solutions to deliver cost effective health care.

The Dashboard is used as the launchpad for Members to access these insights and solutions. However, there was little evidence to show that the current experience was serving all the Member’s needs and making the most of the data driven insights that Vizient have to offer.

Our team were responsible for defining the new experience of the Dashboard by conducting extensive research into the current experience and understanding how Member needs could be addressed.

Understanding the Member needs

Our research into how Members use the Dashboard was central to the concept of this project. We used a number of research methods to provide us with an in-depth understanding of their
needs and behaviours.

Defining the vision for the Dashboard

With a clear understanding of the Member’s needs we were able to define a set of UX principles that guided our creative process to create the new Dashboard experience.

Experience Principles - Workshop

Exploring the possible solutions

With our research and UX principles in mind, we ran an internal design studio to generate ideas that would align to Members needs and our vision.

From our ideas we identified key themes and prioritised them to take forward into more detailed concepts.

Our next step was to explore how these initial concepts would work together to build the structure of the Dashboard.


We prioritised showing certain areas such as ‘Quick Links’ in line with what we understood about how Members use the Dashboard.

Wireframes

Bringing Vizient’s visual identity to life

Vizient uses bright, bold colours across their website and promotional content. However, from our Dashboard research we learnt that colour should be used on to highlight important information or assist navigation.

 

With this in mind we made sure that colour was used to highlight key elements and help Member navigate to specific content.
